In 1990, former Salisbury University Student Gloria Richardson Lucas collected folk material. The main object of her analysis are the effects of divorce on family traditions. She shared her own experience in her paper and emphasized on all the compromises and scheduling that have to be worked out in order to accommodate both families during holidays. She also interviewed a clinical psychologist, Dr. Jane Kunze, who conducted a research on the subject.
